HOW TO MAKE YOUR DAYDREAMS COME TRUE

By Elmer Wheeler

The Case of Thelma Brundage

In 1949 Thelma Brundage was struck by a series of trage-
dies which left her ill and virtually penniless.

Today, Mrs, Brundage, mother of four children, has found
what everyone seeks the contentment that interesting com-
panionship, fascinating work, and success produces.

Mrs. Brundage is a successful life insurance saleswoman;
a business heretofore almost exclusively dominated by men.

After she had been in selling only three short years, her
earnings averaged better than $100 a week a remarkable
feat.

Mrs. Brundage says she owes all of her success to these
five rules:

1. Dont be afraid of selling if you are a woman. Look
upon selling as an adventure a device whereby you
can show a friend something interesting and helpful.

2. Believe in what you sell. Choose something to sell that
you like and can believe in. Thelma Brundage con-
sidered 20 items before she selected life insurance.

3. Select a market in which you are comfortable. "I chose
selling to young girls because I felt comfortable with
them," says Mrs. Brundage.

4. Learn salesmanship. Don't go at it half heartedly
study selling the same way a lawyer would study law.

5. Get out and see people. Give yourself as many chances
to sell in a day as you can. Call on as many prospects
as you have time and energy to see.
