The most successful "career woman" I ever knew had
never seen the inside of an office in her entire life.
She didn't know the first thing about business. Buying,
selling, entering figures in a big ledger, were all "Greek" to
her.
She knew all about the business of how to be happy,
though. She knew how to get what she wanted from life,
and as far as I know, she had everything a woman could ask
for.
She has a fine home, expensive clothes, servants, and
diamonds. She made a wonderful success of her life's career
keeping a home!
How did she do it?
She did it by concentrating on making her husband happy.
I once heard her say, "A lot of married women worry about
whether they are happy or not but the easiest way to be
happy is to make your man happy for a happy man makes
a good, kind husband."
And how right she was!
She had no college degree, read few books, and never
clipped out Dorothy Dix to slide under her husband's dinner
plate. Yet she was one of the wisest women that ever lived.
She was my grandmother!
